If I turn off the mask, it plays fine at full quality. So I'm assuming it's not a hardware issue, or something wrong with my media drives, etc.but a software one. I read the threads about updating BootROM (Firmware) after I had the new graphics card installed and panicked, calling the shop back to "save my old card please". I just updated High Sierra to Mojave 10.14.3.
